Three export and import indexes of Zhongshan have recovered since foreign trade started to spring up in 2009. Compared with 2008, it has recovered as well as that before the financial crisis.
From January to June of this year, the total volume of import and export was 14.56 billion yuan, up 33 percent, an increase of 16.1 percent over 12.54 billion of 2008. Obvious progress was made in foreign trade: export was 10.35 billion yuan, up 29.7 percent, an increase of 15.5 percent over 8.96 billion yuan of 2008; export to Hong Kong grew by 31 percent and 20.3 percent to the USA, 42.9 percent to Taiwan, 48.1 percent to Japan and 49.7 percent to Republic of Korea; in those new markets export grew by 64.0 percent, 15.6 percent and 20.7 percent to Russia, Gemany and UK respectively. Zhongshan has ranked the fifth as to export in Guangdong, taking 1.5 percent share in the trade of the whole nation. Export in Zhongshan shows a optimistic trend.
