The monthly foreign trade of Zhongshan creates a new breakthrough. It is learned that Zhongshan Custom that the city’s export turnover reached 2.01 billion US dollars in June, over two-billion-USD for monthly turnover for the first time. In addition, it takes the city only five years and another two months to double its monthly foreign trade from one-billion-USD in April 2005, showing the vitality of the city’s foreign trade. At present the EU remained the third biggest trade partner of the city. Zhongshan exported to EU reached 1.89 billion US dollars, increasing by 28.4 percent, without an evident to show the effect of its debt crisis from this aspect. Yet comparing to the two increasing points, 48.2 percent to Japan and 56.5 percent to ASEAN, the export to EU had remained unstable. Experts from the Customs commented that taken two items for consideration, the lagging of foreign trade and the following impact of the market fluctuations, the increasing of Zhongshan and EU trade would be likely to deduce.
