Being the first geopark with marine abrasion site, Huangpu Provincial Geopark is planned to be opened by the end of 2017. As a comprehensive geopark with a combination of sightseeing, entertainment, science popularization and ecology and cultural tourism natural the park focuses on ecology, human landscape and local characteristic folklore with marine abrasion landform as the main body. After its completion, it is of significant scientific and aesthetic value for regional changes as visitors and researchers are able to visit the best-preserved marine abrasion holes, cliffs, and benches.
Based on the principle of coordination between development and conservation, the geopark is divided into different levels with corresponding scientific and reasonable conservation program and protection measures to make the park special and characteristic.
