A five-person delegation, made up of Director Tang Ying of Zhongshan Publicity Department and four leaders from Zhongshan Literary Federation, is now touring around Peru, Costa Rica, and Cuba to introduce Zhongshan cultures. The tour, from Apr.23-May,2, is part of the cultural activities hosted by 2016 China-Latin America Cultural Exchange Year, the biggest-ever all-year-round cultural exchange program between China and Latin America.
The delegation held an arts and crafts exhibition respectively in Peru and Costa Rica. The 60 works on display, reflecting the natural scenery and cultures in ZS, attracted crowds of overseas Chinese as well as local celebrities. Alicia Caldera, vice chairwoman of the Cuban People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, hoped for more cultural exchange activities and promised to facilitate the best ballet to visit China. With the help of Wong Cuiyu, a ZS-origined patriotic overseas Chinese, the delegation has reached an agreement with Costa Rica Museum on holding exhibitions.
