13 folk song teams from Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and Zhaoqin gathered on the evening of Jun. 11 in the Western District for the folk singing competition which marks the ending of the 6th Drunken Dragon Culture Festival.

A Zhongshan folk song king competed with folk song singers from the Pearl River Delta Region at the invitational folk song competition. Participants sang Zhongshan salty water song, Baikoulian mountain song, and other folk songs. The competition awarded the gold prize, the silver prize, and the innovation prize for original music.
