The China National Intellectual Property Administration recently issued an announcement confirming that "Zhongshan Wugui Mountain Agarwood" was approved to be a registered Geographical Indication trademark.
The trademark can be used to prove the origin and specific quality of agarwood. Enterprises must be examined and approved by the Wuguishan Forestry Station before using the GI trademark and special mark.
Zhongshan is known as China's "Hometown of Agarwood", and was called "Xiangshan" in history because of its abundant agarwood mainly produced on Wugui Mountain.
In recent years, the Zhongshan Administration for Market Regulation has actively promoted the cultivation, GI trademarks. Zhongshan has 3 geographical indication protection products at present, including Huangpu Preserved Meat, Zhongshan Crisped Grass Carp and Shenwan Pineapple.
