Zhongshan Charity Parade starts at 10 am on Feb 8

The 2020 Zhongshan Charity Parade work conference was held on January 13 at the Party School of the Zhongshan Municipal Committee of CPC. The starting time of the Zhongshan Charity Parade this year will be 10 am on February 8 (January 15 of lunar New Year), and the starting point is at the intersection of Zhongshan Road and Xingzhong Avenue.


As of January 13, this year's Zhongshan Charity Parade has attracted more than 400 Red Cross volunteers from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.


Six assembly areas are set up respectively on the east side of Xingzhong Avenue, at the open space outside Zhongshan Gymnasium, at the National Fitness Square, on the west side of Xingzhong Avenue, at the open space outside Xingzhong Stadium, and inside Xingzhong Stadium.


Teams from all walks of life will gather for the parade in three time periods: the first time period will be 10:00-10:30, the second will be 10:30-11:00, and the third will be 11:00-11:30. Each parade team shall gather at the assembly areas according to the time period decided by a random draw and line up according to the arrival order.


According to the statistics, nearly 20,000 participants of up to 250 teams have signed up for the parade. The parade will end at about 12 at noon.


This year, there are 13 folk art teams performing along the road. The programs they will perform mainly express intangible cultural heritage projects. In addition, street dance and square dance performances as well as magic shows are new additions for this year's event.
