??Zhongshan ranked 9th nationwide in air quality in June, according to Zhongshan environmental monitor station. It is the third time Zhongshan featuring in the top 10 in air quality in the first half of the year.
??Last month, Zhongshan’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 2.85, ranking 9th among 74 cities across the country, ranking 11th among the 21 prefecture cities in Guandong, and ranking 4th among the nine cities in the Pearl River Delta behind Zhuhai, Shenzhen and Huizhou.
??In the first 6 months of the year, the effective monitoring days of Zhongshan’s air quality were 181 days, with a 89% excellent and good rate. The average concentration of PM10, PM2.5 and nitrogen dioxide decreased 4.2%, 8.8% and 8.6% respectively to 46?g/m³, 31?g/m³ and 32?g/m³ from the same period last year.
