A batch of precious objects and documents, donated by the descendants of Yang Xizong, a master architect born in Xiangshan (the former Zhongshan), to the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, went through customs after a quick inspection and were released by Zhongshan Port Customs on March 28.

Yang Xizong, born in Cuiheng Village, Nanlang Sub-district, was among the earliest architects in the Lingnan area and even in China who had received formal Western architecture education and returned to serve the country. His notable architectural designs include the Guangzhou Central Park (now Guangzhou People's Park), Huanghuagang 72 Martyrs Cemetery, Stone Memorial Archway of National Sun Yat-sen University (now South China University of Technology) and Battle of Songhu 19th Route Army Fallen Soldiers Cemetery.

The 54 items donated by the descendants of Yang Xizong, including his collection of architectural works and clothes amassed over many years, will be permanently preserved by the Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen for cultural research and exhibition.
