Zhongshan athlete wins 2nd gold at Hangzhou Asian Games

October 4 marked the final day of the diving event of the Hangzhou Asian Games. Chen Yiwen, a diver from Zhongshan, won the gold medal in the women's 3m springboard competition with a score of 382 points.


It was Chen's second gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Previously, she and her teammate Chang Yani won the gold medal in the women's synchronized 3m springboard event.

On the morning of October 2, China's equestrian team consisting of Hua Tian, Liang Ruiji, Sun Huadong and Bao Yingfeng won the gold medal in the team event of equestrian triathlon at the Hangzhou Asian Games. This marked China's first-ever gold medal in this event at Asian Games. Liang Ruiji, born in Zhongshan's Dongsheng in 1984, is considered one of the leading figures in equestrian sports in China and is renowned as a "dancer on horseback".


On the afternoon of October 2, Liu Yi, an athlete from Zhongshan, won the championship in women's 87kg at the Kurash Competition of the Hangzhou Asian Games. This marked the second gold medal in the history of Team China in the Asian Games Kurash event.
